Sr. Specialist, Project/Store

Long Description

To assist the MMD in planning, implement and monitor all business/technical/operation related aspects in the development/improvement of MMD,

Ensure the proper implementation of the SBU strategy aligning it with the current KPI of MMD by consolidating operational and technical data from each department of MMD.

Accountable to asses any new system/project added to the facility and aligns it with the KPI for each department.

Long Description

  • Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for MMD as guided by the Leader – MMD & FF from definition phase through implementation
  • Arrange the feasibility study of any proposed project to be submitted to the EPC.
  • Recognize system deficiencies and implements effective solutions to MMD.
  • Track any relevant areas and activities to improve maintenance and operation.
  • Creates and executes development plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Performs code reviews
  • Manages technical resources within budget and project schedule.
  • Report to the Leader – Maintenance on a scheduled basis the status of on-going project within the facility
  • Ensure Accuracy of stock inventory report
  • Ensure that all requests are allocated within the budget.
  • Check and verify that items are allocated on the proper ledger within the budget.
  • Focal point for the procurement process of any requests within MMD
  • Coordinate with Finance/accounts in regards to any financial queries regarding the budget allocations
  • Provide project proposals to the Leader – MMD & FF for plant expansion and improvement
  • Coordinate with Engineers and Leader - MMD on any port silo modification/expansion plans and execute the projects with the help of in-house personnel or by hiring contractors
  • Coordinate with the Dammam Port consultants for any expansion projects that needs the necessary permits to proceed
  • In case of outside contracts being awarded for Expansion plans, monitor standards and performance and ensure that costs does not exceed capital budget approved for the project
  • Manages the implementation of the Projects aligning it with the agreed and approved schedule by both parties.

Long Description

  • The incumbent is responsible for planning and implementing site improvement and development projects that is properly coordinated with the concerned departments.
  • The work carried out by the job holder demands a high degree of technical know-how in order to provide the appropriate project proposal as required by the Leader – MMD & FF.
  • He is required to coordinate and interact with companies/suppliers that will provide the exact service and specifications as required for the project.
  • The jobholder will communicate with the maintenance, operation and planning department within MMD in order to generate the correct KPI that will show the performance of each department.
  • Serve as the main contact point between the contractors and MMD for the projects.

Long Description

Internal :

  • Directly reporting to the Leader – Maintenance.
  • Ongoing communication with the Engineering and Projects Control Director
  • Ongoing communication with the Department heads of MMD.

External

  • Ongoing communication with Dammam Port Management Consultants
  • Ongoing communication with Dammam Port Maintenance department
  • On-going communication with external consultants.
  • Ongoing communication with the contractors and suppliers

Long Description

  • Make technical decisions on project development.
  • Takes decisions regarding the hiring of contractors from the technical aspect of the bidding.
  • Schedule project implementation based on priorities.
  • Takes decisions on managing any new projects in case there is a deviation from the work schedule.
  • Initiate plant development procedures with MMD team
  • Facilitates effective team interaction

Long Description

Qualifications :

  • Engineering / Higher Diploma  or Equivalent

Experience:

  • At least 8-years of work experience in a similar role.

Skills :

  • Requires knowledge of planning and scheduling methodologies and associated computer softwares like MS Project, Visio, AutoCad, etc.
  • Basic finance knowledge
  • Technical knowledge of plant systems.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing Technical reports and Balanced Score Cards.
  • Knowledgeable in ship storage handling facilities and operations.
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Ability to translate business objectives into performance metrics
